Who we are

Burwood Women in Tech (BWT) is an employee-led initiative on a mission to empower women of all ages to explore opportunities within Information Technology. Our goal is to promote an environment that supports the development and retention of women in technology through mentoring, networking, and community events. We welcome all individuals, women in technology roles, and non-technology roles as well as allies to join our efforts. ​

What we do

We organize various events and activities throughout the year, such as:

• Networking sessions and social gatherings

• Workshops and seminars on emerging technologies and skills

• Mentoring and career development programs

• Community outreach and volunteer opportunities

Our committees

Marketing and Social Media Committee is responsible for both external and internal communication to enhance awareness and foster collaboration in support of our mission. We play a pivotal role in strategizing, creating, and implementing marketing initiatives for all BWiT events.

Events and Partnerships Committee oversees the planning and implementation of all BWiT events. We strive to empower women and allies both within and outside our organization by facilitating opportunities for teaching and learning at a diverse range of events throughout the year.

Training Committee organizes training sessions, workshops and discussions on various topics related to our mission. We collaborate with external organizations and industry experts to provide specialized training programs and networking events.
